Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have the solutions to gender-based violence - but Australian governments haven’t listened to their solutions - they haven’t funded their solutions, and that means that communities continue to experience violence.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women - who also battle the ramifications of colonialism and racism - face disproportionate violence.

Previous action plans haven't centrered the voices of First nations women, and haven't reduced violence for them. The government needs to commit to a plan that centres the voices and solutions of First Nations women.
